School Badge

The design consists of a mirror, a chrysanthemum, and a hollyhock. The mirror in the center represents a woman's soul and pure heart. The chrysanthemum, by its fragrant beauty, is a symbol of a woman's spirit and strong will to overcome difficulties. The hollyhock is from the family crest of Shinwa's founder, Ms. Haruko Tomokuni.
The symbol and logo

"Compass to the Future"
Kobe Shinwa University wants to be a "learning community" where everyone learns and grows together. We aim to be a university where we can create new selves together and open up new futures. The newly established symbol and logo are based on typefaces cast in England at the end of the 18th century and were redesigned with the image of a "compass to the future". With roots in Shinwa Girls' School, which was established in 1887 and has a history of nearly 60 years as a university, they visualize a sense of tradition and renewal, combined with a classical dignity and modern sensibility.
